CalPERS Retirement

Tuolumne County contracts with the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) for retirement benefits. The CalPERS website has a wealth of information regarding retirement benefits, as well as a Publications Center where forms and publications can be downloaded.

Members may also establish a login to access various online services and features, and to view your annual account statement.

Miscellaneous Retirement (all NON-Safety Positions):

Tier 1: 2% at 55 years (Classic employees and/or returning employees hired on or before 12-13-2012)  

Tier 2: 2% at 60 years (Hired by a CalPERS employer between 03-13-2011 and 12-31-2012 and coming to Tuolumne County with less than 6 months between separation from former CalPERS employer and hire date with Tuolumne County)

Tier 3: 2% at 62 years (Hired by any CalPERS employer on or after 1-01-2013)

Safety Retirement 

Tier 1: 3% at 50 years (Classic employees and/or returning employees hired on or before 12-13-2012) 

Tier 2: 2% at 50 years (Hired by a CalPERS employer between  03-13-2011 and 12-31-2012 and coming to Tuolumne County with less than 6 months between separation from former CalPERS employer and hire date with Tuolumne County)

Tier 3: 2.7% at 57 years (Hired by any CalPERS employer on or after 1-01-2013)
