Miscellaneous Benefits
Employees of Tuolumne County are eligible to participate in many voluntary benefit programs via payroll deduction. You may enroll in these programs at any time, unless otherwise specified. Some benefits are available to relief employees where indicated.
Tuolumne County has contracts with both AT&T Wireless and Verizon Wireless. Employees are eligible for discounted service. You can visit the AT&T Wireless Store at 133 Old Wards Ferry Road in Sonora or Verizon Wireless at 1061 Mono Way in Sonora to get information on available plans. Please contact the Auditor’s Office at 209-533-5551 for an enrollment form.
Colonial offers various supplemental insurance plans, which are deducted from your payroll on a pretax basis. The cost varies based on the plan selected. Enrollment is limited to the first 31 days of hire, and annually at open enrollment. For more information, contact Colonial representative Dana Hollern at 702-468-7900. You may also visit the Colonial Life website.
Tuolumne County offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) via Mutual of Omaha. An EAP service is designed to help you manage life’s challenges. Everyone needs a helping hand once in a while, and the EAP can provide it. Mutual of Omaha can refer you to professional counselors and services that can help you and your eligible family members resolve a broad range of personal problems affecting your emotional health, family life, and work life. Contact Mutual of Omaha at 1-800-316-2796 to obtain confidential services.
Local gyms offer discount membership rates to county employees. If you are interested in joining one of the gyms, please contact the gym directly. They will have you fill out the required paperwork for membership and for payroll deduction. Be sure to ask about sign-up fees and length of membership commitment. The following gyms participate in the program:
Liberty Mutual offers auto and renters insurance at discounted rates to employees. Payroll deduction is available but not required. Call Ty Donlinger at 916-649-1246 x55912 to receive a quote.
Prepaid Legal offers legal protection for members and their families. Members receive access to top-rated law firms in all 50 states for any legal situation. Payroll deduction is required. Contact Jesse Ramos at (909)463-8082 to enroll.
Both Durnall & Campora (209-532-3579) and J.S. West Co. (209-532-7475) offer discounted propane rates to employees. Both companies will require proof that you are a county employee. Please contact these vendors directly for more information or to sign up for service.
