DEIB Book Club

The DEIB Committee is excited to announce the launch of its DEI Book Club, an initiative through the Health & Human Services Agency, to promote learning, understanding, and open dialogue around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) in our organization. The book club is open to everyone and designed to create a safe, supportive space where we can explore different perspectives, share personal experiences, and learn from each other.

Why Join?

  • Build Connections: Engage with colleagues from across the organization and foster a sense of community and belonging.
  • Learn and Grow: Enhance your understanding of DEIB topics, from disability, race, and gender to cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Make an Impact: Help us create a more inclusive workplace by contributing your voice and ideas.

The first book is Disability Visibility by Alice Wong, and our kick-off meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 7th @5:15 pm (see attached flyer for more details). You can join in person, virtually, or asynchronously through our online forum. Contact Bobbi Donham at bdonham@co.tuolumne.ca.us for the Teams link information!

***This book club is a voluntary, after-hours event and employees will not be paid to participate in the book club.***

We look forward to reading, learning, and growing together!
