Most areas of the County of Tuolumne share large rural settings of native plant species that surround properties and homes. Defensible space is the required clearance area around a structure where combustible vegetation has been removed to minimize the risk of structural fires.
In addition to this “EXTREME TEMPERATURE CONTINGENCY PLAN” as a standalone County plan, it is incorporated as an annex to the Tuolumne County Public Health Department’s Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (HEPReP), a comprehensive document developed, and regularly maintained, to prepare for, respond to, and recover from incidents which may impact the health of
our community.
