1. Why did my payment not get applied to the account that I indicated?

The State of California requires that payment for court fines, fees, penalties, and restitution orders be distributed according to the Manual of Accounting and Audit Guidlines for Trial Courts.

2. I haven't paid my fine yet and the Court added $100.00 to my balance. Is there anything I can do about it?

No, Once the court has taken this action it is final.

3. Why was my State Tax Refund intercepted?

If your account was delinquent at any time, even if it is current now, it could be submitted to the State Franchise Tax Board. This can be avoided by paying your account in full as soon as possible.

4. Are there other fees related to my court case that must be paid?

Yes. The Court may give you a general order. Some of the common fees covered under this order are for services provided by the the Probation Department, the Public Defender, and Booking and Release fees, and Administrative fees.

5. There is a hold on my driver's license. How can I get it removed?

All fines in Failure to Pay status must be paid in full before the hold on your driver's license will be removed. Payment in cash, money order or cashier's check is the fastest method of payment to release a hold.
