The Recreation Department is one of the largest single employers of youth employees in Tuolumne County. We hire approximately 70 summer time employees to work as Senior Recreation Leaders, Recreation Leaders, Assistant Facility Coordinators, Pool Managers, Assistant Pool Managers, Lifeguard/Water Safety Instructors, and Lifeguards.

If you enjoy working with people, especially children, and love the water, then a position with the Tuolumne County Recreation Department's Aquatics Program may be the perfect job for you. The Aquatics program hires approximately 50 summer time employees as Pool Managers, Assistant Pool Managers, Lifeguard/Water Safety Instructors or Lifeguards. The Pool Manager and Assistant Pool Manager positions are management level positions. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pool, handling of all pool monies collected, staff scheduling and training, teaching swimming lessons and more... The Lifeguard/Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards teach swimming lesson classes, lifeguard during all pool programs/activities, perform daily maintenance tasks and more... Many of the employees that have worked for the Recreation Department's Aquatics Program have gone on to become, doctors, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, teachers...
