Tuolumne County Water Agency (TCWA)

In June 2013 the TCWA was reestablished by Board of Supervisors action. The TCWA’s purpose is to ensure that Tuolumne County has safe, secure, and affordable water supplies for use by the County’s communities and environment in the present and future. Such water supply needs include but are not limited to: domestic consumption, fire protection, and industry, recreation, agriculture. The Natural Resources Advisory Committee is the designated source for topics that the Water Agency encounters which require further research and discussion using a broad knowledge base.  The TCWA does not have a retail water distribution service area or charge ratepayers.  Rather, it functions to facilitate and support adequate water supply and distribution of our community and partners as described.

Membership: The Board of Supervisors is the Board of Directors and policy-making body of the TCWA. No other official, representative and/or committee may make policy on behalf of the Tuolumne County Water Agency unless expressly authorized by federal or state law and/or other act of delegation by the Board of Directors.
