Prepare California Jumpstart Grant

In July of 2023, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) awarded grant funding to the County of Tuolumne under the Prepare California Jumpstart Grant.  The purpose of this grant is to reduce the long-term risks of disasters, increase resiliency and hazard mitigation measures across census tracts identified by Cal OES that have a combination of high hazard exposure and social vulnerability.  This grant is focused on building community resilience amongst vulnerable populations living in areas most susceptible to natural disasters.

Our goal for this program is to create a strong and more prepared County of Tuolumne in the face of increasing and unprecedented disasters.  Tuolumne County OES will be hosting a series of community meetings that will offer the public the opportunity to consider and learn about their risks and discuss projects to lessen the impact of disasters before they occur, and to recover more quickly in the event of a natural disaster.
