Board of Supervisors Chambers
The Natural Resources Committee serves as an advisory group to the Board of Supervisors on all issues related to natural resources (e.g. water and power rights, fisheries, timber management, forest health, access to recreation areas on public lands, etc…). One of the key responsibilities of this committee is to review draft staff reports to the full Board containing proposed comments on plans, studies, actions, and environmental documents emanating from state or federal agencies concerning public lands.
The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors identified Community Family and Health as their second priority in 2021, and the second objective is to Address Emergency Needs in Homeless Communities and Collaborate with Public and Private Partnerships to Combat Homelessness.
Purpose StatementThe Commission on Aging is an informed voice in the community, to advise the Board of Supervisors, support, and advocate on any or all matters affecting the aging in Tuolumne County. The activities of the COA can involve planning, special studies, promotion and advocacy.

On February 16, 2021, Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors voted to create the Tuolumne County Fire Safety Advisory Committee. The goal of this new committee is to assist the board as they work towards their identified top priority of preventing loss of life and reducing property damage due to catastrophic fire. This committee will advise the Board on how to further achieve the Board’s goal and objectives as it relates to Fire Safety, allow for substantial public involvement, and create an opportunity for collaboration with our partner agencies.
Vision: We envision a resilient landscape that is less susceptible to catastrophic fire effects with reduced risk to public health and safety, proactive communication with a clear, unified message, safe and orderly evacuations with no loss of life, and the public who are educated, prepared and practicing.
Mission: We exist to build fire safety and resilience through community collaboration, education, and participation.
