[ARCHIVED] Used Cooking Oil Disposal
Turkey time is just around the corner, many of you may face the dilemma of getting rid of your used cooking oil. No need for feathers to get ruffled anymore, Tuolumne County Public Works, Solid Waste Division now offers used cooking oil disposal at our Household Hazardous Waste collection facility located in Jamestown.
Only “clean” used liquid cooking oil will be accepted. No fats or grease allowed. Fats and grease, when generated at home, that are solid at room temperature, may go into the garbage. Please place grease in a tightly sealed container before disposing of it.
Facility will accept up to 5 gallons of used (clean) cooking oil per resident, NO business waste allowed.
Facility is open 1 day per month, by appointment only, please contact the Tuolumne County Solid Waste Division at (209) 533-5588 to schedule an appointment.
Used cooking oil will be recycled to use as livestock feed or used to make biodiesel fuel.
