Update Wednesday September 1, 2021 @ 8:00 am The fire is 85% contained at 100 acres. Unified Command of Cal Fire and City of Sonora Fire ended yesterday August 31, 2021. Sonora City Fire will manage the fire perimeter within Sonora City Limits and Cal Fire TCU will manage the county portion. Fire personnel will continue to be in the fire area mopping up until we have full containment. Please remember to be careful as fire personnel and others are still in the area. There have been 18 structures destroyed as a result of the fire. If you were unable to get to the Disaster Assistance Center and lost a home as a result of the fire, please call the public information line Monday through Friday at 209-533-5151.
