The Community Resources Staff are continuing to provide whatever support is available to recover from the impacts of the Rim Fire, and prepare for impacts due to onset of the rainy season. Roads, bridges, culverts and other assets in the affected area have been evaluated, and repaired if possible, and engineering analysis underway for certain bridges, culverts and drainage structures that could be affected or overwhelmed by increased runoff or debris as a result of the fire. We have posted some information about those fire impacts on this page, and will continue to do so as we progress.
We also have documents linked on this page that explain what do with fire damaged properties, and we are working on posting more in the near future. For any questions about building permits or similar issues, please contact us at (209)533-5633. A very useful website maintained by the UC Cooperative Extension of the Central Sierra is available UC Extension Rim Fire pagehere, and it includes a link to a map that compares the private property boundaries within the burnt area to the fire's burn severity zones (Rim Fire Severity Map)
