PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –
Regional Early Action Planning 2.0 Grant Community Outreach

The Regional Early Action Planning Grant Program for 2021 (REAP 2.0) was established as a part of AB 140 for the Fiscal Year 21-22 state budget to support transformative and innovative projects that implement a region’s sustainable communities strategy and help achieve goals of more housing and transportation options that reduce reliance on cars. REAP 2.0 will provide grants to regional
entities through a combination of formula and competitive-based evaluations.

The REAP 2.0 Program Objectives are as follows:
• Accelerate infill development that facilitates housing supply, choice, and affordability;
• Affirmatively Further Fair Housing; and
• Reduce Vehicle Miles Traveled.

The Community Development Department will host a virtual information/listening session to share the REAP 2.0 program. Attendees will learn about the program development timeline and upcoming opportunities to provide input on the program. During the virtual sessions, CDD staff will present our approach for developing the REAP 2.0 Program. Following the presentation, participants will be encouraged to submit comments to provide feedback on the development of the County’s REAP 2.0 Program.
