Food Plan Check Resource Guide Environmental health is responsible for regulating the design and construction of retail food facilities and monitoring the food handling practices that take place in the facilities. In addition, Environmental Health provides food safety information to the public and coordinates investigation of foodborne illnesses with the Tuolumne County Public Health Department and Health Officer. The objective is to assure that food provided to the public from retail food facilities is safe to eat. Facilities and events where food practices are inspected include:
- Restaurants - Cottage Food Operations - Caterers
- Markets - Bed and Breakfast - Farmers markets
- Bars - Organized Camps - Certified Famers Markets
- Schools - Temporary Food - Mobile Food
